Why?

Because people need an outlet. Mine used to be postcards.

Long after people stopped writing postcards, I continued. Or rather, I started, and then persisted, and continue to persist, though far less frequently.

Because what both appeals and discourages about postcards is their ephemeral quality.

Because mail is now something that is processed and then trashed. Nobody knows what to do with physical correspondence that they value anymore.

Because I never write the same postcard twice, which causes substantial strain when attempting to write a batch of ten postcards.

So now I post cards here to all, for all time.
